Hendersonville Hosts Old-Fashioned Christmas

On Friday, December 2, from 5–8 p.m., historic downtown Hendersonville will come alive with light, song and family fun as the annual Old-Fashioned Christmas event returns to Main Street. A magical tradition for visitors and long-time residents alike, the evening will feature costumes, caroling, shopping, sweets, treats and many more festive delights from some of downtown Hendersonville’s unique merchants.

“Old-Fashioned Christmas is about creating an experience for our community which engenders the types of holiday memories that we all cherish,” says Art MoB owner and Downtown Advisory Board member Michele Sparks. This fun event, however, is just the beginning of the full slate of “Home for the Holidays” activities that Hendersonville will be hosting throughout the holiday season. Ice-skating, carriage rides, holiday concerts, Flat Rock Playhouse productions and a parade led by Santa himself round out the exciting schedule of activities and events for getting into the season’s spirit of community and celebration.

As downtown economic development director Lew Holloway notes, the town’s month-long holiday festivities “represent the work of a variety of community partners dedicated to making the holiday experience in Hendersonville one without peer. It is a truly heartwarming way to get into the spirit of the season.”

Come home for the holidays in Hendersonville or make a new holiday tradition at this big-time celebration with small-town charm.

Events run through the New Year. More information and a comprehensive schedule can be found at visithendersonvillenc.org.
